Writing Retreats
I have been leading weekend writing workshops for several years. The experience is deeply nurturing and healing. There is time for reading, walking, napping, meditation, and simply being in a spectacularly beautiful setting.

An atmosphere of
silence is maintained during the retreat except for our workshop
meetings. If you find that you haven’t enough time for writing, if you
have pieces you can't seem to get started on, or if you just want to
join a group of retreatants who are putting thoughts and feelings to
paper, this is a spectacularly beautiful and nourishing place in which
to do so.
Retreat costs include a room and meals.
To sign up, call 831-477-4375 or email Amber.

Retreat Locations
| The Hermitage, Big Sur |
The monastery is situated on a mountain high above the Big Sur Coastline with panoramic views in every direction. The setting is serenely peaceful; we can sojourn into the most authentic parts of ourselves and hear them speak. |
| St. Columbia, Point Reyes |
Lodging is in a rustic and cozy four-story redwood lodge on seven acres of forested land, just up from the water on Tomales Bay in Inverness. We will meet to write together Friday & Saturday evenings, and Saturday, Sunday, and Monday mornings, with the rest of the days free for exploring the area, as we choose. Breakfasts are included. There is a large kitchen with supplies and utensils for meal preparation if you want to bring your own food. Markets and restaurants are nearby, some within walking distance. This is a semi-silent retreat. People are free to talk outside the retreat house. |
| Villa Maria del Mar, Santa Cruz |
A place of peace, natural beauty, and tranquility overlooking the Monterey Bay. |
| Ireland |
A two-week pilgrimage from Connemara to Dublin, with a focus on landscape, nature, and historical and sacred Celtic sites. Lodging will be in serene and picturesque villages across the country. Writing will be incorporated into the retreat.
Please contact Amber for the itinerary.
The 2011 trip is full with a waiting list. |
